I found a way to check for names for characters who are hostile. it involves cheats, so ctrl+alt+~ to open a console and then cmd (noclip), when you hover long enough the combat will end and the name can be seen when you cmd (noclip) yourself back into the game.
And on the same note, the character I thought to be "Il Cattivo", was actually "Low"
Best to make sure that it isnt a generic name for hostile non-story characters, but yeah I suppose that would mean the phrase on his shirt has some other sort of meaning.
It seems to be an entirely different creature, you actually get to see a few Urzo at the end of "Hunt for Riddick" and they dont look anything like that thing.
Its a pre-rendered cutscene so there wouldnt be a render in the games files, no textures or anything... you can maybe try subtitles? I actually tracked down one of teh concept artists for Escape from Dark Athena and asked him what the "space vermin" were called, he didnt have an answer.
Maybe track down the concept artist for escape from butcher bay?
Maybe even check the credits because sometimes they get experts on animal sounds to do animal sounds rather than just using pre recorded sounds... but most likely that would only be in the credits of the original xbox and PC version rather than the remastered one.
Hei, just some thought I wanted to run by you. I noticed how most prisons are named after the planet they're on or orbit: Ursa Luna, Crematoria, Corovan. And since Buther Bay's full name is Butcher Bay Correctional Facility, is the planet's name Butcher Bay?
I have absolutely no idea if the planet's name is butcher bay, on this sites article I put all the planetary info up on the butcher bay article and categorized it as a planet because there was never a distinct name given.
I suppose its... POSSIBLE it has a distinct name, but if it has one I sure as heck havent found it and its gotta be buried somewhere pretty deep.
Weird, there is an annotated guide to the Riddick DVD that states specifically that the prison inmate characters were allowed to pick their own prison names, and that he chose "sniper".
Ah, finally figured out what that was, it's like creators commentary on the movie while it plays. I have that on blu-ray as well, thought it to be a bit pointless. Now I have a reason to watch the movie again :)
Its surprisingly not pointless, it provides backstory on characters, locations, and other stuff... and it provides lots of behind the scenes information.
Ok watched it with the commentary, and it was during the production that Yorick van Wageningen who played The Guv, nicknamed Peter Williams' character as Sniper. So it wan't an official name.
There could be another version of the commentary though... mine was with David Twohy, Karl Urban and Alexa Davalos.
But the fact that he actually says "sniper" and "Sybar" is a made up word, I would go with Sniper... I am going to check the novelization as well to see if it backs this up... subtitles should be in all honesty the last resort to figuring somethings canonical spelling or pronunciation dude.
That depends, are the blu-ray and DVD subtitles the same? is the theatrical cut and directors cut subtitles the same?
at what time point is the name Sybar used? because I will check the DVDs subtitles, I just find this so unlikely - __ sorryI am being so stubborn about this D:
Hei no worries, I just want the most official info i can find.
Sybar was mainly used during the 3 way battle on crematoria, once as reminder on who's talking like the screenshot I uploaded, and the second time when he is killed and The Guv yells his name.
I believe it was, if memory serves... that letter may not have even been in the original version of the game.
There are two versions of butcher bay, that letter I think was added for the one included with Dark Athena... I will have to double check, I am probably wrong.
